A Two-Year Discipleship Journey for Christ's Church Camden
Jesus is the one thing that drives everything.
"For the One" is a two-year discipleship journey focused on helping every person participate in God's mission: welcoming the one who is coming, investing in the one who is growing, and empowering the one who is being sent.
This is about much more than a building or a campaign. It is about people. It is about the one person who is far from God. The one family that needs hope. The one child who needs to know they are loved. The one neighbor who is searching. The one person who may walk through our doors wondering if there is a place for them, and discovering that Jesus has been pursuing them all along.
So before we talk about square footage, we are asking a different question first. Not "how much can we raise," but "God, what do you want to do in me so that you can do more through me?"

Our Story
From a Living Room to a Movement.
Back in 2006, a handful of Jesus-loving people in Camden County started meeting together, looking for a new expression of church in this community. They gathered in living rooms and on back porches. At least once, they did church on a boat. It wasn't long before others started joining, space became an issue, and it became obvious that God was up to something more.
In 2007 they became Christ's Church Camden. They met at the Lions Club, then the Rec Center, and then took a huge step of faith and bought an old Methodist church on Kings Bay Road. Every move took courage, built on one core belief: Jesus is the one thing that drives everything.
Nearly twenty years later, God is still moving one story at a time. In 2021, coming out of the pandemic, we were averaging roughly 450 people on a weekend. Today that number is roughly 1,639, and more than 3,000 people call Christ's Church home. Since 2023 alone, 425 people have declared their faith through baptism. Every name represents a story, and every story matters to God.
We are at an inflection point, and it is not slowing down. Camden County is growing fast: thousands of new homes are approved, Kings Bay keeps bringing military families in, and county planners are preparing the grid for a wave of growth that is already on its way. We have to make room before the people arrive. The next chapter of our story isn't a building. It's the people God is bringing into our path, and our readiness to receive them.
For The One is how we get ready.

The Vision
One Vision. Three Pillars.
01
The One Who Is Coming
Making Room for the One More
We believe our "one more" is already on the way: the neighbor who hasn't accepted the invitation yet, the family moving to Camden next year, the guest for whom this weekend is their first. There are already services where we don't have room for one more, and all the signs point to more growth, not less. So we are removing barriers and expanding capacity so the person yet to come finds a seat at the table and a place to belong.
Focus
Expanding the worship space from 400 to 1,000 and creating room in the lobby for [sentence unfinished in copy doc]
What it takes
Expanding our capacity to welcome the disconnected and unfulfilled in Camden.
02
The One Who Is Growing
Guiding the Next Generation
On a given weekend we are already ministering to around 400 kids and teens, and our classrooms are often at capacity. More than a third of our county is under the age of 20. So we are doubling down on the next generation: renovating our original building for a growing kids ministry and launching an accredited Christian school here in Camden, with a target launch of Fall 2027.
Focus
Renovating existing building space to make more room for kids ministry and create classrooms for an accredited Christian school.
What it takes
Strengthening and expanding the spaces where our next generation of disciples are growing.
03
The One Being Sent
Expanding our For Camden value to reach "one more"
For twenty years we have been a church that reaches the one. This season, we are becoming a church full of people who are reaching the one. We are shamelessly For Camden: being sent starts at home. But we know the mission has no borders — with our military community at Kings Bay, we are also preparing our military servicemen and women who will be redistributed around the world, carrying the Great Commission with them.
Focus
Through enhanced training and equipping in personal ownership of the Great Commission, we are equipping every person to be effectively sent.
What it takes
Embrace a mindset shift to each person actively living on mission where they live, work, study, and play.
One Mission. One Fund. Everyone.
Where Your Giving Goes
One mission. One opportunity to participate. One next step for each of us.
A One Fund initiative creates an opportunity for everyone to participate in the same mission and take their own next step in generosity, whether you already give, are considering giving for the first time, or are simply looking for your next step. Wherever you are, there is a place for you in the mission.
Every gift becomes part of one shared fund with one shared purpose: to continue the ministries God is already using to change lives while investing in the vision He has given us for the future. Rather than separating our generosity into different funds or competing priorities, we will bring it together into a single budget, set by our leadership and shaped by the commitments we make together throughout this initiative.
Our goal is $8 million in total giving across the two years.
Confirm framing: $8M is total giving incl. ongoing budget
What's Coming
A Place Built for the One.
The For The One initiative will reshape what's possible at Christ's Church Camden. Not as an end in itself, but as a tool for the mission God has placed in front of us. Here's a first look at the spaces we're building.

Your Part
How Will You Play Your Part?
There are four simple steps in this journey, and they come in this order: Pray, Engage, Give, and Lead. Each one is an invitation to make room for what God wants to do through you.
1 Step One
Pray
What can God do in me, so He can do more through me?
Ask God to awaken your heart and reveal how He is inviting you to participate in this season. Pray that He would multiply our efforts to make disciples, make an impact for His Kingdom, and do what only He can do.
Fully commit to what God wants to do in you and through you during this season. Take a step deeper into the life of the church through community, serving, and living on mission, allowing God to develop greater commitment, vision, and generosity in you.
3 Step Three
Give
Ask God to reveal what it looks like to give in a way that changes you, and respond generously as He leads. Trust Him with your resources and be willing to take whatever bold steps are necessary to advance His mission.
Commitments are collected at Advance Commitment Night, Sept 27, and Commitment Weekend, Oct 15 and 18.

4 Step Four
Lead
Own the For The One vision and invite others to join you. Celebrate what God is doing through Christ's Church, encourage others to take their next step, and cheer them on as they respond with faith, commitment, and generosity.
Celebration Weekend is November 12 and 15.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
01 What is For The One?
For The One is a two-year discipleship journey at Christ's Church Camden built on three pillars: the One Who Is Coming, the One Who Is Growing, and the One Being Sent. The primary goal is 100% participation, everyone doing something. For The One is funded through a single fund, with a goal of $8 million in total giving across the two years, supporting both our ongoing ministry and the vision ahead.
02 Is this just a building campaign?
No. The heart of For The One is helping every person participate in God's mission. The spaces we're adding exist so we have room for the people God is already bringing to Camden.
03 How long does this run?
For The One is a two-year journey. The teaching series runs September 10 through October 18, 2026. Content rolls out across all three pillars over the next two years. All the dates are listed above.
04 How do I commit to pray?
Click "Commit to Pray" anywhere on this page. You'll choose a date and a pillar to pray over.
05 How do I give?
Click "Give Now" to make a one-time gift or set up a recurring gift. We use a one-fund approach, so every gift goes to the work of the church and the vision of For The One together.
06 Will there be a commitment card?
Yes. Formal commitments are collected via printed commitment card at our commitment gatherings this fall, and you can also fill one out online right here on this page. If you'd like a printed card earlier, please reach out.
07 When does construction begin?
Construction is currently scheduled to begin late Summer 2027. Timeline details will be shared as we move through each stage. The first phase is rallying our church around the vision and covering it in prayer.
08 What if I have more questions?
We'd love to talk with you. Reach out to the church office or join us at an upcoming For The One gathering.
